~ice cream~

"Baby Hot Fudge Sundae"

Spring means more than just sprouting buds on the trees, grass turning plush and green, and birds chirping. Spring also means time for the "Dairy Bar" to open in our town!!

Derek always gets the same: "Chocolate Baby Cup with Sprinkles and Eyeballs with a cone on top."
Notice how he already ate the swirl on top before I could get a picture?!?!

It's a treat to stop by this place on occasion.  It's located less than a mile from our house and right across the street from the ballpark.  Sometimes coaches or parents will treat their team to ice cream after a great game.

Nothing like enjoying a cold treat in the car with sweatshirts on!
Ice cream really does taste better when it is 90 degrees outside and you can sit on the curb to eat it and it melts faster than you can lick it.  I'm not kidding!

Strawberry would have to be my favorite flavor... as long as it has HUGE chunks of real strawberries hidden throughout.

What is your favorite flavor of ice cream?

We can't visit the local ice cream shops, we are a dairy free family, but we do make a mean ice cream at home using coconut and almond milk. Current fav in our home is chocolate chip mint - yum!!!!

Oh yummy! I have to be so careful with that stuff come spring. I've switched to frozen yogurt in en effort to keep my hips and behind from growing....it's not working. I justify the larger serving by saying it yogurt and not ice cream.

Oh, Kelly, you really have to come visit us! We have tons of strawberries and a couple of years ago I got an ice cream maker for my birthday. We make an amazing homemade strawberry ice cream with lots of real strawberries. My favorite would have to be homemade vanilla ice cream with fresh raspberries on top. Wish I could have some right now...

Kim~ That sounds yummy!! Coconut and almond milk... delish! My SIL makes one like your due to food allergies with her kids.

Melissa~ Frozen yogurt is good.. small, medium, large, or XL!!

Amber~ I've always wanted my own ice cream maker! Maybe this will be the year we get one! I love vanilla ice cream over hot blackberry cobbler. I've been know to have this for breakfast on occasion. ;)
